VICTOR MANCEAU
BIO
Victor Manceau is a French student on an Erasmus exchange in the MA programme of Fine Art at the IUA. After a BA at ENSAAMA in Paris, he has been studying textile design for three years now at ENSAD. His work is multidisciplinary, crossing mediums by hybridizing them. Victor wishes to emancipate himself from traditional design to tend more towards the art world, in a way blurring the boundaries between these two fields.

The Invitation is based on the image, the image of nature. It is presented, represented, sometimes composed. This project attempts to implement the idea that all the walks we take alone can be understood as journeys through works that appear to us as invitations to the outside. A real exterior whose constituent elements, a priori normal to our eyes, can sometimes seem surreal. Thus, a trivial surrealism in the known field of reality that makes us reconsider our position on the everyday things that surround us and that gives us a feeling of discovery. Finding one's own "Terra incognita". Between paintings, photographs, installation and textiles, it is also an ode to serendipity. What counts is not so much the point A or B but the different possible paths one can take between them. Everything is evocation, projection, and contemplation in this concern to apprehend nature and our surroundings in multiple ways.
