DEEPA IYENGAR

Deepa Iyengar frequently creates works which are both the smallest and the largest in an exhibition, as they are composed largely of space. Space and issues of power are related, and her works emphasize observation as a method of control or, alternatively, liberation, which are intended to be directly experienced by the viewer/participant. Works are completely integrated with the specific characteristics of the spaces which invite their creation.
